The Upper Room
The Salem House of Prayer began as The Upper Room at The Reed Opera House in Salem Oregon September 1st 2014. It stemmed from decades of disappointment with the organized religion of Christianity. Getting to know my creator was so much more real than the dog and pony show of church. And in March 2016 it got all too real (long story), and there has been no turning back. The Upper Room became a true monastery and a true house of prayer.
We will save the long story for another time. The Reed Opera House was a great launching point, and it is very sentimental to me. My life would never be the same.
Fast forward ten years later to June 2026 and the name was changed.
The Upper Room became The Salem House of Prayer
The reason for the name change had to do with The Upper Room name already being used by several different religious groups already. Not that (House of Prayer) wasn't, but the former evil 501c3 religious organization known as SALEM HOUSE OF PRAYER AKA Club 666 went belly up in 2025, as dishonest, corrupt businesses often do.
So I said to myself, "Self, we are taking the name."
On June 1st 2026 we became
The Salem House of Prayer

Humble servants...of THE Most High...and proud of it.
