The Upper Room

 The Salem House of Prayer began as The Upper Room at The Reed Opera House in Salem Oregon September 1st 2014. It stemmed from decades of disappointment with the organized religion of Christianity. Getting to know my creator was so much more real than the dog and pony show of church. And in March 2016 it got all too real (long story), and there has been no looking back. The Upper Room became a true monastery and a true house of prayer.

Fast forward ten years later in June 2026 the name was changed to, The Salem House of Prayer.    

The reason for the name change had to do with The Upper Room name already being used by several different church groups already. Not that (House of Prayer) wasn't, but the former 501c3 religious organization known as SALEM HOUSE OF PRAYER finally went belly up in 2026, as businesses sometimes do. So it was decided to use the House of Prayer moniker as our own. Although The Coolest Place in Town would have been more accurate.

And now, we chug forward through the Apocalypse and toward that whole... stupid Armageddon thingy....
